A. Approval of any preliminary major plat shall expire and become null and void three (3) years after the date of preliminary plat approval, unless a different time is provided by state law.

B. The Council may grant one (1) extension of the three (3) year preliminary plat approval for a period not to exceed one (1) year provided that the request for an extension is filed at least thirty (30) calendar days before the expiration of the three (3) year period and upon showing that the applicant has attempted in good faith to submit the final plat within the three (3) year period.
