Where the accuracy of a water meter is questioned by a user, it will be removed and tested. If the test discloses an error against the consumer of more than three percent on the meter's register an adjustment will be made on the billing for the last billing period in accordance with the percentage of error found. If the test reveals the meter is running at least ninety-seven (97) percent accurate, the user pay all costs incurred by the city for testing the meter. These costs will added to the water billing for the next period. [Ord. 2000-02, April 2000; Ord. 1997-04, June 1997.]
